The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C 350 E has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the steering rack on rear-wheel-drive models, where a defect can impair steering control and raise the risk of a crash.
Two recalls relate to the front roof panel, the section between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof. In one case, the bonding adhesive can deteriorate and allow the panel to detach and become a road hazard. A separate recall covers vehicles where a prior repair may not have bonded that same panel correctly, leaving the same detachment risk for owners who believed the issue had already been addressed. On the safety systems side, the emergency call system can send responders to the wrong location after a crash, and the passenger seat occupant sensor can incorrectly show the front airbag as active when it will not actually deploy, leaving a front-seat passenger without that protection in a collision.
