The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a rubber hood seal that can fall into the engine compartment and contact hot exhaust components, raising the risk of an engine fire.
The remaining recalls cover exterior lighting, emergency communications, and a related engine bay fire risk. On the lighting side, the LED tail lights can fail to illuminate on the rear sides of the vehicle, making it harder for other drivers to see the car from an angle, particularly at night or in poor visibility conditions. The emergency call system carries a software fault that can cause the system's internal clock to report an incorrect date and time, which in turn can cause the system to relay an inaccurate vehicle location to emergency responders if a crash occurs and the system activates. That delay in pinpointing the vehicle's location could slow response times when they matter most.
