The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan has 4 recalls, the most serious being a software fault that can shut down the electric drive system without warning while driving, cutting power to the wheels and raising the risk of a crash.
A second software issue affects the stability and braking systems: anti-lock brakes, traction control, and electronic brake force distribution can all stop working at once, and the speedometer may drop to zero while the vehicle is still moving. On the high-voltage side, the battery management system may fail to alert the driver when its own monitoring function has a problem, leaving a potential battery issue undetected. The tow hook threaded into the front or rear bumper may not seat securely and can come loose when the vehicle is being loaded onto a transport carrier or tow truck.
