The 2016 Mercedes-Benz G Class has two recalls, the more serious being a software fault in the electronic stability program that can cause the Distronic Plus radar braking system to require extra brake pedal force, extending stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash. The second recall involves the cables connecting the inner door handles to the door locks. In a crash, the force needed to operate those cables can increase to the point where they snap, potentially trapping occupants inside the vehicle when they try to exit using the interior handles.
