The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA Class has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a loose engine bay fuse box that can cause sudden loss of engine power, power steering, and electronic stability and brake assist systems while driving.

The fuse box mounting screws can work loose over time, allowing the box to vibrate enough to damage the fuses inside. When those fuses fail, any of the affected systems can cut out without warning, leaving the driver with reduced or no ability to steer or stop in an emergency. The second recall concerns the center rear seat belt, which may not be properly anchored to the vehicle body. The belt can pull free the moment someone buckles in, or in a worse case, detach during a crash when it is needed most, leaving that passenger without any restraint. The third recall is a compliance matter: certain vehicles display a text-based brake system warning light reading "BRAKE" rather than the symbol-based indicator required under Canadian regulations. The brake system itself works correctly and the warning is still conveyed, but the indicator does not meet the required format.
