The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC Class has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a wiring harness that can chafe against the steering column and cause the electric power steering or electronic stability control to fail, potentially leaving the driver without full steering assistance or stability intervention.

The same wiring fault can also disable turn signals and the gear selector, so the consequences extend beyond steering alone. On the occupant safety side, the rear outboard seatbelt latch plates can slip behind the C-pillar panel trim and become difficult or impossible to reach, meaning rear passengers may ride unbelted without realizing a fix was needed, raising their injury risk in a crash. Note that two separate recall filings cover this same seatbelt latch issue, but the underlying defect and its consequence are the same. Rounding out the list, certain vehicles have LED headlamps whose aim was set incorrectly at the factory, which can result in beams that either fall short of illuminating the road ahead properly or angle in a way that reduces visibility or affects oncoming drivers.
