The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 has 7 recalls, the most serious being a steering coupling screw that can loosen and detach from the steering gear, causing a complete loss of steering control.
Two other recalls carry equal severity. The fuel pump can shut down without warning, cutting drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Under the driver's seat, a 12-volt ground connection may not be properly secured and can overheat, raising the risk of a fire. On the airbag side, the front acceleration sensor's wiring harness may be routed incorrectly, which can prevent the front airbags from deploying in a crash. Rear door window trim bars can detach from the vehicle while driving and become a road hazard for other drivers. There is also a recall covering the automatic emergency call system, which on certain vehicles may be disabled, preventing the car from contacting emergency services after a crash.
