The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 has 4 recalls, with the most serious being a fire risk from a 48-volt ground connection under the passenger seat that can overheat if it is not properly secured.
Two separate recalls can cut engine power while driving. The transmission software may fail to complete a downshift under certain conditions, causing the engine to stall without warning. Separately, the fuel pump can shut down on its own, also cutting drive power. Either situation leaves the driver with reduced ability to accelerate or merge, raising the risk of a crash. On the structural side, the rear door window trim bars can detach from the vehicle at speed and become road hazards for other drivers.
