The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE400 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving water that can collect in the spare tire wheel well, damage the fuel pump control unit, and cause the engine to stall while driving.
The remaining two recalls cover door security and crash notification. A door latch defect can allow a door that appears fully locked to open unexpectedly, which raises the risk of a door swinging open while the vehicle is in motion. On the safety systems side, the automatic emergency call feature that alerts first responders after a crash can malfunction and send them to the wrong location, delaying assistance when it may be most needed.
