The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE550e has 5 recalls, the most serious being water intrusion into the fuel pump control module that can cause the engine to stall without warning while driving.
The door latch system has two separate concerns. On certain doors, a latch that appears to be fully engaged may not be, allowing the door to open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion. The center console latch can also fail to hold closed in a crash, letting loose objects inside fly around the cabin and strike occupants. The automatic crash notification system, sometimes called eCall, may send emergency responders to the wrong location after a collision, delaying response time when it matters most. There is also a label recall specific to the GLE550e: the tire pressure sticker on the B-pillar lists incorrect tire dimensions, and fitting the wrong tire size based on that label can throw off the speedometer reading.
