Mercedes-Benz Glk350 Recalls

The Mercedes-Benz GLK350 has 11 recalls covering the 2010–2015 production run, with the most serious being Takata airbag inflator defects across multiple model years where the passenger-side inflator can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.

The Takata inflator issue spans nearly the entire production run and appears across several overlapping recalls covering 2010–2015 models. These vehicles, particularly those originally sold or registered in high-humidity states such as Florida, Hawaii, and Louisiana, face the greatest risk of inflator rupture on the passenger side. The driver-side inflator carries the same fragmentation risk on 2010–2012 models. A separate airbag concern on 2013–2015 vehicles involves the frontal driver airbag deploying without a crash, which raises the risk of injury and loss of vehicle control. On 2010 models, the airbag control unit can corrode internally and trigger unexpected airbag deployment.

Steering is a concern on 2013–2015 models, where a steering coupling bolt may not have been tightened adequately, potentially causing a complete loss of steering. On 2014 models, a software fault can prevent airbags from deploying correctly in a crash. A separate software issue on 2013–2015 vehicles affects the emergency call system, which can report an incorrect vehicle location to emergency responders due to a date and time error, potentially delaying help after a crash.

The only lower-severity recall covers a narrow production window of 2013 models built between late May and early August 2012, where headlamp output exceeds the allowed level and can create glare for oncoming drivers.
