The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS450 has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the automatic emergency call system, which can either contact emergency services with the wrong location or fail to connect at all after a crash.
The eCall system issue means that after a collision, the vehicle may transmit incorrect GPS coordinates to the emergency response center, sending help to the wrong place, or it may fail to make contact entirely, leaving occupants without assistance. There is also a recall for the rear door window trim, which can detach from the vehicle while driving and land in the road, creating a hazard for other vehicles. On the electrical side, the interior switch illumination can fail, leaving buttons and controls unlit and harder to locate while driving at night.
