The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a roof panel bonding issue where the front panel between the windshield and panoramic sunroof can detach from the vehicle and become a hazard for other drivers on the road.
Prior repair attempts on some vehicles did not fully resolve the bonding problem, so the risk applies whether or not the roof has been worked on before. A panel that separates at highway speed can land in the path of following traffic with little warning. The third recall involves the emergency call system, which uses a software fault that can cause it to report the wrong date, time, and vehicle location when automatically placing a distress call after a crash. If first responders receive an inaccurate position, they may be directed to the wrong location, delaying the time it takes them to reach the vehicle.
