Defect
On certain vehicles equipped with front swivel-seats, the wiring harness under the seat may not be properly secured. As a result, the airbag wires could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the side airbag may not work properly in a crash. Note: If the wiring to the side airbag is damaged, the SRS light will stay on in the instrument cluster.
Safety Risk
An airbag that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the routing of the seat wiring harness and attach it correctly.
