The 2015 Nissan Murano has 10 recalls, the most serious being an ABS brake system defect where the pump seal can leak brake fluid onto an internal circuit board, causing an electrical short that can start a fire even while the vehicle is parked.
A separate but related ABS issue involves a defective actuator that can delay pressure control when the anti-lock brakes engage, causing the vehicle to lose stability and increasing the risk of a crash. On the powertrain side, this recall only affects hybrid models: the hybrid powertrain control module software can shut down the hybrid system and engine under certain conditions, cutting drive power unexpectedly. There is also a safety equipment concern involving the passenger seat sensor, which can misread the front passenger's presence and cause the frontal airbag to not deploy properly in a crash.
