The 2023 Nissan Rogue has 9 recalls, the most serious being engine failures tied to its 1.5L variable compression turbo engine, where oil breakdown or bearing defects can cause sudden loss of drive power or an engine fire.
Several restraint system issues make up the remaining recalls. The front seat belt pretensioners for both driver and front passenger may not function correctly in a crash, reducing the belts' ability to hold occupants in place. The rear seat belt anchor bolts may not have been tightened properly and can loosen over time, meaning those belts may also fail to restrain rear passengers in a crash. The driver's powered seat may not be fully secured to its frame, with welds that can detach from the rear inboard bracket and leave the seat unsecured during a collision. There is also a concern with the driver's airbag inflator, which can absorb moisture and cause the airbag to deploy incorrectly, reducing its ability to protect the driver.
