What can fail
The metal sleeve inside the front lower suspension insulator can collapse, reducing the clamp force that holds the bolt in place. This can cause the bolt to loosen, break, or be lost, allowing the joint to separate. If not fixed, the opposite side could also separate, potentially causing the steering shaft to disconnect while driving.
What the fix does
Dealers will replace both the left and right front lower cradle to suspension insulators and their attaching bolts.
