The 2021 Porsche Cayman has two recalls of equal seriousness: engine connecting rods that can crack and cause a stall, oil leak, or engine damage, and suspension fasteners that can loosen and detach, causing sudden loss of control.
Both issues apply to specific trims, including the GT4, GTS 4.0, 718 Spyder, and Boxster GTS 4.0 variants. The engine concern is the more consequential of the two in terms of secondary risk, since an oil leak combined with engine heat can lead to a fire. The suspension issue is more immediate in its handling impact: if a component detaches while driving, the vehicle can become unstable without warning.
