PORSCHE MACAN S Recalls

The Porsche Macan S has 7 recalls spanning 2015 through 2020, with the most serious being fuel leaks on 2015-2017 models where a cracked fuel pump flange or a leaking low-pressure fuel line in the engine compartment can allow gasoline to escape and ignite. The fuel-related recalls cover slightly different year ranges but share the same real-world risk: fuel reaching a heat or spark source can cause a fire. The fuel pump flange cracking issue applies to 2015-2017 vehicles, and the low-pressure fuel line leak applies to 2015-2016 vehicles. The 2016-2020 model years have a rear seatbelt anchor recall where the bolt securing the outboard rear seat belt to the seat frame may not have been properly tightened. In a crash, that anchor can pull free, leaving a rear passenger without effective belt restraint. On the occupant detection side, 2015-2017 vehicles have a front passenger seat sensor mat that can fail over time, causing the front passenger airbag to deactivate. If the airbag is off when a crash occurs and deployment would have been warranted, the front passenger loses that protection. This issue appears across filings covering the 2015-2016 Macan S and Macan Turbo as well as the 2017 Macan GTS. The 2017 model year has a separate concern for vehicles equipped with the optional ski bag: the fastening strap may have been sewn with the wrong thread, which can cause the strap seams to tear in a crash and allow the bag to come loose inside the cabin.
