The 2018 Porsche Macan S has 5 recalls, the most serious being a control unit failure that can disable dashboard warning alerts, reduce drivability, and impair systems that activate after a crash.
Two recalls involve occupant protection. The front passenger seat sensor can degrade and stop detecting someone in the seat, causing the airbag to stay closed in a crash. On the rear seating side, a lower seatbelt anchor bolt on the outboard rear seats may not have been tightened properly and can pull free in a crash, leaving the belt without a secure attachment point. On vehicles equipped with the optional ski bag, the bag can detach in a crash and strike occupants. There is also a headlight recall covering a wide range of Porsche models across many years: headlights may not be properly aimed, either failing to light the road ahead or shining into the eyes of oncoming drivers.
