Summary
The Porsche Macan has 11 recalls spanning 2015 through 2025, with the most serious being a 2021 model year issue where shock absorber mounting screws may not be properly tightened, potentially damaging the braking system and causing driving instability that can lead to a loss of control.
The most recent production years bring a cluster of lighting and camera issues on 2024-2025 Macan Electric models. The rearview camera can display a blurry image or go blank entirely, reducing visibility when backing up. The headlights on those same vehicles can exceed maximum brightness limits, creating glare for oncoming drivers. There is also a separate high beam brightness issue on 2024 models that similarly impairs vision for drivers approaching from the opposite direction.
On 2018 models, a control unit can fail and disable driver display alerts, impair normal driving functions, and interfere with systems that activate after a collision. Going back to 2017, the front anti-roll bar links can separate from the anti-roll bar or shift out of position, causing the vehicle to oversteer unexpectedly and reducing the driver's ability to maintain control.
The 2015-2018 model years share a fuel pump concern where the service cover can contact the filter flange, develop cracks, and leak fuel, which raises the risk of fire. The 2015 model year specifically has a few additional issues: a separate fuel pump crack that can cause fuel to collect under the rear seat area, a brake booster that may have been damaged during installation and can lose vacuum under braking, reducing stopping power, and a front passenger seat sensor mat that can stop working over time and cause the front passenger airbag to switch off even when someone is seated.
