The 2026 RAM 5500 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the trailer tow module, which can cause trailer brake lights and turn signals to go dark and trailer brakes to stop working entirely.

The remaining four recalls all center on the instrument panel. Two involve software errors that can cause the display to go blank, leaving the driver without gear selection readouts, warning lights, or other critical information while driving. A third recall covers a separate issue where the instrument panel shows an incorrect brake system warning light, meaning a real brake problem might not be signaled properly, or a false alert could appear without cause. On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster, the wrong cluster may have been installed at the factory, causing the brake system malfunction and parking brake indicators to appear as text rather than the required symbols, which may not comply with Canadian display regulations and can create confusion for the driver.
