The 2025 RAM 5500 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving a faulty trailer tow module that can cause trailer brake lights and turn signals to go dark and trailer brakes to stop working entirely.
A separate software error in the occupant restraint controller can prevent the driver's airbag and seatbelt pretensioner from deploying in a crash, and can also disable the electronic stability control system, which helps the truck maintain directional control during hard maneuvers or slippery conditions. Three recalls address instrument panel display failures caused by software faults. In each case, the screen can go blank either at startup or while driving, leaving the driver without gear selection indicators, warning lights, and other critical readouts. One of these display recalls only affects trucks equipped with a 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster, while the others apply more broadly across the model range. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the display issue, which is why it appears across multiple filings.
