The 2024 Tesla Model 3 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a hood latch that may not detect when the hood is unlatched, allowing it to fly fully open while driving and blocking the driver's view entirely.
On the safety equipment side, one recall covers a driver-side airbag module that was assembled without a deflector piece that guides gas during deployment, meaning the airbag can inflate incorrectly in a crash and raise the risk of injury. There are also two recalls related to visibility systems. The tire pressure monitoring system warning light may go dark between drives even when tires remain underinflated, so the driver could set out without knowing their tires are low on pressure. Separately, a circuit board in the rearview camera system can short out and cause the camera image to go black, leaving the driver with a blank screen when backing up.
