The 2007 Toyota Camry has 5 recalls, the most serious being fire risks from two separate sources: the power window master switch can overheat and melt, and certain aftermarket heated seats have a copper heating element that can short circuit.
On the throttle side, the accelerator pedal can become difficult to press, slow to return to idle, or mechanically stick in a partially depressed position, which can make the vehicle hard to slow down. There is also an airbag concern: certain side, curtain, and knee airbag inflators were assembled with too little propellant, meaning those airbags may not deploy with enough force in a crash, raising the risk of injury to occupants in the affected seating positions. Note that the heated seat recall applies only to vehicles equipped with aftermarket seat heaters distributed through Southeast Toyota Distributors.
