There is also a fire risk tied to aftermarket heated seats. On vehicles where this accessory was installed, the copper heating element inside the seat cushion can short-circuit if damaged, creating a fire risk inside the cabin. This recall affects only vehicles sold through Southeast Toyota Distributors that were fitted with these specific aftermarket seat heaters.
