The 2023 Toyota RAV4 has 4 recalls, the most serious affecting vehicles fitted with 17-inch black alloy accessory wheels, where improperly installed or damaged tire valve stems can leak air, leading to underinflated tires and potential tire failure.
The remaining three recalls involve display and visibility software issues. On RAV4 models with a 12.3-inch instrument display, a software fault can cause the entire instrument panel to go dark at startup, leaving the driver without a speedometer, fuel gauge, or warning lights. The Panoramic View Monitor system on some vehicles can also freeze or show a blank screen when reversing, reducing the driver's view behind the car. Both issues are addressed through software updates. There is also a labeling concern on the accessory-wheel vehicles mentioned above, where the load carrying capacity label may state an incorrect weight limit.
