2007 Toyota Sequoia

The 2007 Toyota Sequoia has 4 recalls, the most serious being a Takata airbag inflator defect where the passenger-side frontal airbag can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially causing serious injury or death.

The remaining recalls are closely related in nature. Two additional filings cover the same Takata inflator rupture risk on the passenger side, with one specifically targeting vehicles that were sold or registered in high-humidity areas including Florida, Gulf Coast states, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and several U.S. territories, where moisture accelerates the risk of a rupture. Prior repair attempts may not have fully resolved the issue for all affected vehicles, which is why multiple campaigns exist for this same underlying defect. The fourth recall involves aftermarket heated front seats installed through Southeast Toyota Distributors: the copper heating element inside the seat cushion can short circuit if the wiring is damaged, raising the risk of a fire inside the cabin.
