The 2023 Toyota Tacoma has 3 recalls, the most serious involving an axle shaft that can separate from the axle housing, causing sudden loss of vehicle stability and reduced braking. The child seat anchor system is also affected: welds securing the upper child seat anchors may be insufficient, allowing a child seat to shift or come loose during a hard stop or crash. On a smaller number of trucks, the tire and loading information label may display incorrect values, which can lead to overloading the vehicle, improper tire inflation, or mismatched wheels and tires, increasing the risk of poor handling or a tire failure.
