The 2021 Volkswagen Arteon has 3 recalls, the most serious being a brake booster connection that can come loose and cause the brake pedal to fail entirely, eliminating the driver's ability to slow or stop the vehicle. The rearview camera can malfunction mid-ignition cycle, leaving the screen black or frozen when backing up, which reduces visibility behind the vehicle. There is also a tire pressure monitoring system recall where incorrectly calibrated sensors may fail to identify which tire is losing pressure after a tire rotation, meaning a dangerously underinflated tire could go undetected.
