The 2021 Volkswagen Arteon has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a brake booster rod that can come loose and detach, causing the brake pedal to stop working entirely.
Two recalls affect the rearview camera. In one, a faulty infotainment memory module can prevent the camera image from appearing at all when reversing. In the other, the camera can malfunction mid-ignition cycle and display a black screen or freeze, also cutting off the driver's view behind the vehicle. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the camera issue, which is why it appears across more than one filing. The tire pressure monitoring system also has a recall: sensors were incorrectly calibrated and may fail to correctly identify which tire has low pressure after a rotation, meaning the warning the driver sees may point to the wrong wheel or not trigger at all.
