2011 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg has 4 recalls, the most serious being a brake pedal that can dislodge while driving, leaving the driver unable to stop the vehicle. A securing clip at the brake pedal hinge may be missing or may have come loose, allowing the pivot pin to shift out of position. Over time, this causes the pedal to wobble and can fracture the pivot, meaning brake input is lost entirely. Two of the four recalls cover this same brake pedal issue. On the hybrid side, the battery tray may not drain water properly, allowing water to pool and cause an electrical short in the high-voltage battery, which raises the risk of a fire. This recall only affects Touareg Hybrid models. There is also a label recall on certain Hybrid models where the door sticker shows incorrect tire pressure values, which can lead to improper inflation and accelerated tire wear.
