The 2017 Volvo V60 has 7 recalls, the most serious being side airbags that may fail to deploy in a crash, leaving occupants without that protection in a side impact.
Two separate door and restraint concerns round out the occupant safety picture. A component inside the door latches can break, causing a door to feel closed when it is not fully engaged, and the door could swing open while driving. On the seatbelt side, the front passenger seatbelt buckle's attaching stud can loosen and allow the buckle to separate from the bracket entirely, meaning the passenger belt may not hold in a crash. There is also a broader front seatbelt recall covering certain model years, where unsecured occupants face a higher risk of injury in a collision. Finally, a software error in the vehicle's connectivity module can prevent the system from transmitting GPS location to emergency services after a crash, which can delay response times.
