The 2021 Volvo V60 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery short circuit risk on plug-in hybrid models that can start a fire while the vehicle is parked and fully charged.
The airbag control unit on certain vehicles may not be properly secured to the car body and can break free in a crash, which can prevent the airbags, seatbelts, and high-voltage battery disconnect from functioning correctly, raising the risk of injury. There is also a rear seatbelt concern: the automatic locking retractors in the rear seats can deactivate too early, preventing a child safety seat from cinching down and staying firmly in place during a crash.
