The 2023 Volvo V60 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a software error in the engine control module that can prevent the combustion engine from starting and cause the vehicle to lose drive power as the battery drains.
On the braking side, a diagnostic error in the brake control module can switch off anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control simultaneously, leaving the driver with reduced ability to stop quickly or maintain control on slippery surfaces. The remaining two recalls both describe the same rearview camera problem: when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the camera image may fail to appear on the display, removing the driver's view of pedestrians, cyclists, or obstacles directly behind the car.
