On the throttle side, two separate conditions can rob the driver of speed control: a disconnected accelerator pedal position sensor can leave the engine holding high RPMs instead of dropping to idle, and a separate fault during limp mode can send a false signal that causes the truck to accelerate without driver input. There is also a wheel safety concern where lug nuts on the left side of certain trucks may not have been properly torqued at the factory, allowing them to loosen and fall off, which can lead to a wheel separating from the vehicle and striking other vehicles or people nearby.
