The 2022 Volvo VNR has 5 recalls, the most serious involving two electric-drivetrain issues: a coolant line in the high-voltage battery pack that can come loose and cause an electrical short leading to a fire, and an adaptive cruise control system that can trigger dangerously hard braking, locking the rear axle and causing loss of control.
Three additional recalls cover other areas of the truck. Sleeper cab cabinets may not be properly secured and can detach and fall, posing an injury risk to anyone inside the cab. Hub caps on certain vehicles have a compression spring that can push the cap off the wheel while driving, leaving debris on the road. The windshield wiper motor can also suffer premature gear wear and stop working, leaving the driver with no wiper function in wet conditions.
