The 2025 Volvo VNRE has 3 recalls, the most serious being two critical safety issues: a high-voltage battery that can short circuit internally and catch fire, and a drag link ball stud that can fail and cause sudden, total loss of steering control.
On the electronics side, certain trucks equipped with the Bendix EC80 control unit can experience electrical interference that causes the unit to misprocess commands or stop functioning entirely. When this happens, several safety systems that depend on it, including anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, automatic traction control, active cruise control, and collision mitigation, can lose effectiveness or shut down completely.
