The 2016 Volvo XC60 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a blown starter fuse that can leave the engine unable to restart after an automatic stop, stranding the vehicle in traffic and raising the risk of a crash.
Both remaining recalls involve the front seat belts. The front seat belt retractor on certain vehicles can fail to properly secure an occupant, leaving them without adequate restraint in a crash. Separately but in the same system, the front passenger seat belt buckle's attaching stud can loosen over time, allowing the buckle to pull away from its bracket entirely. If that separation happens, the front passenger has no effective belt holding them in the seat during a collision.
