The 2011 Volvo XC70 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a software calibration issue that can cause the engine to stall suddenly and without warning during normal city driving, including while braking or lifting off the accelerator.
Two recalls affect occupant safety systems. A fault in the wiring connector for the driver's airbag clockspring can prevent the frontal airbag from deploying in a crash, leaving the driver without that protection. The front seatbelt pretensioner assembly on certain vehicles may also be improperly secured, which can reduce how well the belt restrains an occupant in a collision.
