2006 YAMAHA FJR1300 Recalls — Canada & USA

Recalls 1 and 3 describe the same underlying defect (ground joint connector overheating). Recall 2 is a separate ignition switch wiring issue. Both result in engine stall / electrical failure. The 2006 Yamaha FJR1300 has 3 recalls, all involving electrical wiring faults that can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly while riding, raising the risk of a crash. A ground joint connector in the wire harness can overheat and deform, breaking the electrical ground and causing the ignition system or other components to malfunction and cut the engine. There is also a separate issue with the main ignition switch, where the wire connection can overheat from electrical resistance until it melts the solder joint and pulls free from the switch, disabling the electrical system entirely.
