The 2016 Yamaha FJR1300 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a transmission second gear that can crack and lock the rear wheel without warning, raising the risk of losing control.
A software issue introduced during the repair for the transmission recall can limit engine speed in first gear, causing the motorcycle to not accelerate as expected when the throttle is applied, which can surprise the rider. There is also a front brake light switch that can fail due to internal corrosion, causing the brake light to stay on continuously and the cruise control to cut out unexpectedly.
