The 2019 Yamaha YZF-R3 has 5 recalls, the most serious being two separate brake issues where damaged hoses can leak fluid and cause a significant loss of braking ability, raising the risk of a crash.
In one case, incorrectly routed horn wiring contacts the brake hose and wears through it. In the other, a front brake hose holder that was not installed correctly allows the hose to shift and rub against the front fork until it fails. Both result in the same outcome: brake fluid loss and reduced stopping power. There is also a visibility concern where condensation or debris can build up on the rear reflector lens, making the motorcycle harder for other drivers to see. Two recalls address a VIN mismatch between the label and the frame stamp, which matters because an owner checking an incorrect label may not realize their motorcycle is covered by a safety recall.
