The 2024 Acura MDX has two recalls, both rated at equal severity: one where the front passenger airbag can deploy incorrectly in a crash, raising the risk of injury, and one where the brake pedal can shift out of position and prevent normal braking.
The passenger seat sensor that determines airbag deployment may misread the occupant, causing the airbag to fire in a way that does not match the situation. On the brake side, a pivot pin that was not properly secured can allow the brake pedal to move out of alignment, meaning the driver may not be able to apply full braking force when needed.
