The 2012 Aston Martin Virage has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the throttle pedal arm, which can break and cause the engine to drop to idle, leaving the driver unable to accelerate at speed.

Recalls 1 and 3 describe the same underlying defect: a throttle pedal arm that can snap and cut engine power without warning. When this happens mid-drive, the sudden loss of propulsion creates a crash risk depending on traffic and road conditions, particularly when merging or maintaining highway speed. On the transmission side, a communication error between the engine and transmission control modules can prevent the park pawl from engaging when the car is shifted into Park. If the driver then exits on a hill without applying the parking brake, the car can roll freely. There is also a door locking concern: the interior door release mechanism can stop working when the car has been locked from outside, trapping anyone inside the cabin and preventing them from getting out on their own.
