The amplifier issue stems from electrolytic capacitors that can leak internally, and over time, humidity turns that leaked material into an unintended electrical path that causes the amplifier to overheat. On the brake side, the vacuum booster pump that multiplies the force of your foot on the pedal uses internal blades that can wear down faster than expected.
