The 2022 Audi A7 has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk on PHEV models where the high-voltage battery can overheat, and a separate issue where liquid spilled in the rear seat can shut down the gateway control module and cause a sudden loss of engine power.
PHEV models also carry a charging-related fire risk: the onboard charging system can overheat the outlet or cable during a charge session. On the fuel system side, the fuel level sender can stick and display a falsely high reading on the gauge, meaning the engine may run out of fuel and stall without any low-fuel warning reaching the driver. Two related recalls affect rear visibility: a software error can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when reversing, and a separate infotainment display fault can also cause the rearview camera screen to go dark. Both leave the driver without a view of what is directly behind the vehicle while backing up.
