The 2022 Audi A8 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the front passenger airbag, which can deploy with excessive force in a crash and raise the risk of injury to a child or smaller occupant seated close to the dashboard.
The remaining two recalls both affect rear visibility. A software error can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on screen when backing up, leaving the driver without the camera view behind the vehicle. A separate issue with the infotainment touchscreen can also cause the rearview camera display to go blank, producing the same result: reduced visibility while reversing and a higher chance of a backover crash. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the camera display issue across all affected vehicles.
