The 2020 Audi S4 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a rear axle lock nut that can break and knock the rear wheels out of alignment, causing loss of vehicle control.
The second recall affects the front passenger airbag's occupant classification sensor, which detects whether the seat is occupied by an adult and adjusts airbag deployment accordingly. If the sensor fails, the passenger airbag can be disabled entirely, leaving a front-seat passenger without airbag protection in a crash. On the tire side, the same rear axle misalignment issue that can cause a loss of control can also produce premature or uneven tire wear over time, which raises its own crash risk as tread wears down unevenly across the rear tires.
