The 2013 Buick Verano has 5 recalls, the most serious being a driver-side airbag inflator that can rupture during deployment, potentially sending metal fragments toward the driver and other occupants.
Two separate recalls cover this same airbag inflator issue, and prior repair attempts may not have fully resolved the problem for all affected vehicles. On the electrical and ignition side, there are two additional concerns: the ignition key can be removed without the transmission being in Park, which can allow the vehicle to roll away as occupants are getting out, and an intermittent electrical ground fault can keep the engine running briefly after the ignition is switched off if certain lights are active. There is also a compliance recall involving the rear seat head restraints, which can drop to a lower position under load when set to their highest adjustment, moving further than safety standards allow.
