The 2014 Buick Verano has 7 recalls, the most serious being a defect where the roof-rail airbag inflators above the headliner can rupture and send sharp metal fragments into or out of the cabin, or cause the side curtain airbags to deploy without a crash.
All six airbag recalls describe the same underlying problem with the roof-rail inflator weld joint, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue for some vehicles, which is why multiple rounds of repairs have been issued. The seventh recall involves the ignition and transmission interlock: the park lock lever may allow the key to be removed before the transmission is fully in Park, which can allow the vehicle to roll away while someone is getting out.
